Welcome to the What Next? Library of Things!
This community project is a collaborative venture, organised and operated by What Next? and Godalming Library (part of Surrey Library Service), with the support of Waverley Borough Council (who are providing storage) and Godalming Town Council (who provided our display cabinet).
At What Next?, we believe in the power of community and the value of sharing. Our donation-only Library of Things aims to provide you with access to a wide range of items, tools, and resources that can enhance your life and help reduce waste by promoting a culture of sharing and sustainability.
As you explore our collection, you'll find everything from gardening equipment, DIY tools, and kitchen appliances to electronics. All items have been either ethically sourced or generously donated by community members like you, who understand the importance of building a better tomorrow by reusing, repairing and recycling today.
We are very grateful to the staff of Godalming Library for managing the pick-up and return of items. However, all other aspects of this service are run by volunteers generously giving their time to the community; please do bear this in mind if things don't always go as planned.
CHRISTMAS BREAK: the LIBRARY OF THINGS, will be closed from SUNDAY 22nd DECEMBER to WEDNESDAY 1st JANUARY (INCLUSIVE).

Reserving Large Items
All Large Items are identified in their description. These items are transferred from our storage site to the library every Wednesday afternoon. You can reserve a large item for collection, but it will only be available for collection from 4:00pm on the first Wednesday of your reservation period.
Please reserve large items NO LATER than the TUESDAY BEFORE you wish to check-out the item, so it can be transferred from storage on Wednesday.
Donations to Operate the Library
While there is no fee to borrow, we kindly encourage you to make a donation if you can. Your support helps us maintain and expand our collection, so that we can continue to serve the community and inspire positive change.
You will be reminded by e-mail about donations when you reserve, collect and return an item.
You can donate anytime through our Givey page.
Donations of Items
We also welcome your donations of items in good working condition, that others might find useful. Where appropriate, a manufacturer's Instruction Manual must be available (or downloadable). If you have something you would like to contribute, please get in touch, and our friendly team will gladly assist you. Our e-mail is: lot@whatnext.earth.
